Catching fire and cleaning the interface

The beta has been available for about a week now, and feedback has been slowly dripping in. So far I’ve only had positive comments on the game, which is a huge relief. Personally I enjoy the game, but it’s good to see everybody else who tried it is also enjoying it.

If you’re one of the awesome people who pre-ordered and is now enjoying the beta, you should have just received the 3rd update. Make sure to read up on what has changed and got improved over at Steam community.

The pre-orders have also been slowly dripping in, with more and more people trying out the game it will only result in a better game when I finally hit the official release button.

This week I’ve been mostly working hard on the interface, getting different features up and running to make it all easier to navigate and use for other people besides me. The game now comes with a nice resolution-setting for windowed mode (desktop only obviously) and volume sliders to mix up the music, effects and ambience.

Some further feedback gave me a bunch of new idea’s, and some of those have just been pushed to the beta version for people to run into.

This includes a nice “spreading fire”; the fire starts on a single random tile in a room, but with every few steps will die out, and cause an X amount of other surrounding tiles to catch fire until they all die out. It works pretty sweet.

I think this game is once again beating my record for most content and gameplay in a single game, but the development time has been fairly good. I also feel like September is still a manageable release window, but we’ll see how that goes.

Again, if you want to try out the game, you can get the beta and a 30% discount by pre-ordering right now from the SpaceGrunts.com website, from what I hear the game is worth it!
